Transitions

Blazer: Anne Taylor Loft. Pink Shirt: Marshall's. Trousers: Kohl's. Belt: Discovery.

Pink scares me. I am scared of giving off the girly girl vibe, but I am one.  Transitioning from high school and college to the professional environment in clothes has been a struggle.  I want to have my personal style, but my personal style is not as professional.  I don't always like the preppy look.  Everyone goes through style transitions.  I am not the only one.

  2. I like this look a lot! I think you tone down the pink too-girly vibe with the structure that you have everywhere else, and that belt is awesome. You look really cute.

  3. I like the pink on you. Style transitions happen all the time. I went through a few major ones within the last few years. I went through a maternity style change. When you wear button ups tucked into pencil skirts and then can't do that anymore - you have to find new styles you like. I then went from being a professional to a stay at home mom for a year. I then went back to work and recently have been promoted to a job that requires way more professional dress. It is a transition. Try all sorts of professional looks and see what you really like. Then start building from there. I advocate going to several stores and trying on tons of clothes. Even if you don't buy anything it allows you to see what it might look like on you. Bring the shoes that you would be wearing to work with you, so that you get the whole effect. Good luck!!

  4. I used to be scared of pink for the same reason. I am NOT frilly. I've made my peace though (and turns out if you find the right shade it can be incredibly flattering to your skin and make you look all glowy pretty). And you definitely toned down the girliness with the darker colors and an edgy belt. I love this!
